    1. Dry roast semolina for 1-2 minutes
    2. In a bowl, take semolina, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/2 cup curd
    3. Mix well, keep it aside for 15 minutes
    4. Add salt, onion, green chillies, peppercorn, ginger
    5. Mix well. if dough feels too dry, add little bit water, dont add too much else vadas will not shape
    6. Wet your palms, take lemon sized ball, flatten it
    7. With index finger, make hole at centre
    8. Drop vadas in hot oil, fry on medium flame until golden brown
    9. Allow excess oil to be absorbed by absorbent towel
    10. Serve hot with sambar/ chutney
