    However for my kid I wanted a quick and instant option so learnt. Semolina is the coarse, purified wheat middlings of durum wheat mainly used in making upma, pasta, and couscous. The word semolina also refers to a sweet dessert made from semolina and milk. Semolina is a very gritty, coarse type of flour, usually made from durum wheat.


    Instructions

    Steps to make Semolina(Rava)  Appe !!:

    1. In a pot, take 2 cup of Semolina add Curd, Salt and mix it. Add 1 cup of water and let it rest for 10 minutes.
    2. After 10 minutes, take oil in a pan and heat it. Add Jeera, Asafoetida, curry leaves, red and green chillies and Black gram to it.
    3. Let it crackle for a minute and add this to the batter. Mix everything well. The batter should have a dropping consistency, if not add little water to it. Add 1/2 TSP of Baking soda and mix it well so that it gets fluffy.
    4. Take Appe Patra (mould) and grease it with Oil, put it on gas on medium flame and put this batter in mould one by one and cover it with a lid.
    5. After 2 minutes, turn each Appe upside down, add a drop of oil. Let it cook for 2 minutes again on medium flame.
    6. Once they get golden brown and crispy, take out all the Appe.
    7. For chutney, take Daliya, Chilli,Coriander leaves, Sugar, Salt and Curd and add little water and grind it well.
    8. Serve Appe with Chutney and enjoy !!!!
